Review of Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris
Rating: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace: he has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You’d like to get to know Grace better. But it’s difficult, because you realize Jack and Grace are never apart. Some might call this true love.
Picture this: a dinner party at their perfect home, the conversation and wine flowing. They appear to be in their element while entertaining. And Grace’s friends are eager to reciprocate with lunch the following week. Grace wants to go, but knows she never will. Her friends call—so why doesn’t Grace ever answer the phone? And how can she cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim?
And why are there bars on one of the bedroom windows?
The perfect marriage? Or the perfect lie?
1. The Story
This book made me feel so helpless at times…
This is a story of abuse and desperation in all their shapes and forms; it’s terrifying and disturbing at the same time!
2. Plot & Characters
The plot line is well executed and the characters offer more than a few layers of sophistication. The combination of these two components gave the story a fair tint of enthralment.
3. Twisty Twists
Twists and turns were peppered all over the pages, keeping my head spinning till the quite satisfying finale.
4. A Little too Far Fetched you Say?
Not all scenarios presented in this book can be deemed as realistic but that didn’t bother me much.
5. The Final Verdict
I thoroughly enjoyed the thrilling ride, which kept me perched on the edge of my seat, from beginning to end. Will definitely recommend.
